Installing WordPress might sound tricky but, actually, everybody can do it in a couple of steps, it doesn’t require any special knowledge, only basic understanding how to download and upload files in internet and unzip a zipped archive. Also, basic understanding of how cPanel works in your hosting provider account.

If it sounds strange to you, and you would like to install WordPress, don’t worry, in this article I will show how to do it and install WordPress in your hosting and make your site live and available on internet.
What you will need to install WordPress?
A domain name, for example: https://youawesomesite.com
A stable internet connection.
Basic understanding of how to use FTP client(s) and cPanel
There are two main ways to install WordPress: By your self and from your hosting provider account in cPanel. I will cover both of them in this article.
Installing WordPress by your self requires a couple of things: Real Hosting Provider, Domain Name and FTP Connection
Installing WordPress from cPanel is even easier, and you will need a couple of clicks to install it from your hosting provider admin panel.
How to install WordPress from FTP
Before you start, make sure that you have an FTP account, every hosting provider offers FTP accounts, so to create it you need to log in to your hosting provider account and create an FTP account.

After you’ve created an FTP account, you need to download WordPress from the official WordPress site and click the button Get WordPress

After you click the button, you will be redirected to download page and next click Download WordPress (version number)
at the time of writing this post, the version of WordPress is 6.0.2

After clicking Download WordPress
button, you need to save ZIP
archive in your computer. (on Windows, usually it is Downloads
folder.

Next you will need to unzip the archive (extract files) to do that, right click on zip file and next click on Extract here
Please note that all examples are from Windows Operating System. If you’re using different Operating System then you can read this article to find out, how to extract zip files.

After extracting the files, new folder will appear named wordpress

The downloading and extracting of WordPress is finished. Now we need to upload it to our hosting to install it.
Connect to your FTP account and navigate to your site folder, usually it is located in www/public_html
directory.
To do that, open the wordpress
folder, select all files and click upload

After upload is finished, navigate to your domain name, for example https://yourawesomesite.com to begun WordPress
installation.
After you have navigated to your domain name, you will see the installation window:

Select the appropriate language and click Continue
In the next window, the installation process will ask you to prepare a few details, such as:
Database Name
Database Username
Database Password
Database Host
Table Prefix (optional)

If you already have all appropriate details, click Let's go!
New window will open, enter appropriate details and click Submit

New window will open and click Run the installation

On the next window, enter the site details and click Install WordPress

After successful installation, on the next window, click Login
:

On Login page, enter your username and password and click Log-in

After successfully log-in
you will be redirected to WordPress Admin Dashboard, that’s it! You have successfully installed WordPress using FTP client.
How to install WordPress from cPanel
Installing WordPress from your cPanel is much easier, and it doesn’t require any file download/upload and manual installation, everything is done from your cPanel in few clicks.
Please note that depending on your hosting provider, the appearance of cPanel may be a little bit different but, the installation process is pretty much the same.
Navigate to your cPanel and search for section Scripts
it may be also named Apps
, search for WordPress
icon and click on it:

On the next window, enter the appropriate details, do not forget to choose where to install (the Installation URL) if the options aren’t visible click the Install
tab in the top right corner.

After you have entered the appropriate details such as: Installation URL, Site Name, Site Description, Admin Username, Admin Password expand Advanced Options
and choose the database name and optional table prefix and click Install

Installation process will begin, and it will take about 2-3 minute to install WordPress
, after installation you can log-in
at your WordPress
. All you need is click the available Administrative URL link on your cPanel

That’s it! You have successfully installed WordPress
from your cPanel. As you can see, it is much easier than installation from FTP client.
